James Wilkinson

James Wilkinson, 70, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Bronx, NY, March 18, 1940, son of the late James Wilkinson and Rose Mauro Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson retired after 28 years with the Manhattan Transit Authority and was most recently employed with Target in Wilmington. He enjoyed fishing and had served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Wilkinson; a son, Edward J. Wilkinson and fiancée, Kari Essig; a daughter Candy Wilkinson and her son Jackson Kern and his father Greg Kern. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel with Chaplain Anne Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
