Jamie Simon Singletary

Jamie Ann Simon Singletary, 54 of Wilmington died unexpectedly at Cape Fear Memorial on Monday, October 25th. Jamie was born on March 11, 1956. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Mildred P. Simon of Wilmington, North Carolina. Jamie was a Registered Nurse, and earned her degree from Whiteville Community College. She began her career at Rex Hospital in Raleigh and obtained a position at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where she remained for over 20 years. Jamie was an exuberant, free spirit who loved very deeply. Survivors include her husband Bert Lee Singletary, her beloved daughter Megan Leigh Singletary, her sisters Vickey E. Simon, Linda S. Venters, and Kimberly A. Simon as well as nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Andrews Mortuary Market at 17th on Friday, October 29th between 6-8pm for visitation. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, October 30th at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel with Chaplain Ann Gordon officiating. The burial will take place at Oleander Memorial Gardens near Bradley Creek immediately following the service. Pallbearers include Bryan Schoenweisner, Bobby Simon, Josh Venters, Sam Flint, John Marshall, and John Marchioni.
