

In loving memory of Jane Walker Beck of Wilmington North Carolina who departed this world on May 13th 2024 at the age of 90. “Ms. Jane” as she was lovingly referred leaves long and loving memories of all who knew her.
She is survived by: her Husband Tom Beck of Wilmington North Carolina; her brother Robert Walker of Asheboro North Carolina; her three children, Tom Beck Jr (Kathy) of King George Virginia, Nancy Ange (Rusty) of Raleigh North Carolina and Marti West of Wilmington North Carolina. She is also survived by five Grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren.
Jane was born in Harrells North Carolina in December of 1933. She Attended Franklin School in Harrells and was so proud of having her father as her principal through all her years at Franklin. She started a Reunion Committee and was very active with the alumni of the school for many years. She attended her freshman year of college at Flora McDonald in Red Springs North Carolina and was a Graduate of the University of North Carolina Women’s College in Greensboro North Carolina.
She was a proud and devoted wife and mother who adored her husband, loved and protected her children, and doted on her grandchildren.
Jane spent many years as a schoolteacher. She taught Home Economics and Special Education. Later in her career, she taught and assisted in the care of special needs adults. She was also a gifted seamstress who loved to sew and knit. Although she worked and volunteered outside the home, she was a remarkable mother who ensured her family was always taken care of.
Jane was a very early member of Windermere Presbyterian Church and was one of the first women ordained in the Presbytery as an Elder. She never wavered in her devotion to the church and God.
