Janet McCoy Smiley, 71, of Carolina Beach, died January 14, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. She is survived by her husband, Ben Smiley, 2 sons, 3 daughters, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was born on February 4, 1942, one of 18 children of Annabelle and Glenn McCoy of East Liverpool, Ohio. Janet was a longtime member of Seaside Chapel of Carolina Beach, NC. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014, at Seaside Chapel located on Dow Road at Carolina Beach.
