I just wanted to say I miss you Mama. I was thinking of you today.

Condolences and prayers to all the family. Jean and I grew up together at Carolina Beach - attended Carolina Beach Elementary School, Sunset Park Jr High, and then New Hanover High School. Jean was such a sweet friend - so many memories - playing street games such as 1,2,3 Redlight, Giant Step, double jump ropes, bike riding, pajama parties, spending nights with her & Judy Farmer at Judy’s home and taking turns riding Judy’s horse (Cocoa I think was the name of the horse), playing basketball together for our church at City Hall,  going on hayrides with our church youth group - especially one memorable one to the Maco Light. And her Mother Miss Kitty was our family hairdresser! We re-connected on Facebook and even saw each other at a Carolina Beach Kids Reunion several years ago where both she & Wayne attended. I remember when she met Wayne in Jr. High and her life was forever changed. Heaven definitely gained an Angel.  R.I.P. sweet friend and someday we’ll meet again.  

I grew up on Carolina Beach.  Jean was one of the older girls in my church.  Always looked up to her.  We reconnected about 10 years ago after I invited her to a CB Kids reunion.  She and Wayne met my sisters and me there and we shared many memories.  We stayed in touch—played Words With Friends daily and Benjy and I visited her in Leland several times.  The last time we saw her was at Wayne’s memorial service where we met her children and reconnected with Lloyd and Chuck.  She was a beautiful soul.  Love and condolences ❤️🙏🏻
