She was born in Robeson County, NC, on May 7, 1930, to the late Colonel Morgan, Jr. and Sadie Spivey Morgan.
After moving to Wilmington with her family, Jean and her younger sister became involved with the local USO. Jean was a junior chaperone for USO organizer Hannah Block.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Pugh and her brothers Cecil James Morgan and Charles Rudolph Morgan.
Survivors include her sister, Marlene Morgan Kramer; daughters, Gail Gallaher (Terry) and Teresa Payne (Conrad); grandchildren, Rachel Elyse Gallaher, Patrick Henry Gallaher, Benford Payne, and Freyja Lawson; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Adam Lawson; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Friday, May 29, 2026, at Andrews Market Street Chapel.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
