

Jerry was born on September 2,1947 in Wilmington, NC son to William and Sallie Bell. Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Owen Ray and Eugene and many friends that passed before him.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy and took several classes at Cape Fear Community College, including Electrical Controls, Blueprint Reading and Trade Math. He was a Craft certified with Flour Daniel and Davis Constructors. Working over 26 years at DuPont he held many positions from Journeyman, Electrician, Foreman, Night Supervisor and General Foreman. In the last part of his career, he would travel to work Nuclear Plant shut downs and Hydro Power Plants. This allowed Jerry to go to new places and enjoy sightseeing and make new friends. Jerry never met a stranger and was always the type to put others before himself. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed driving and traveling. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie; son, Steven (Whitney); grandson, Alex (Kaleigh); great grandson, Daniel; great granddaughter, Margaret; sister, Betty Lou; nephews, Cecil and Kenny; nieces, Betty Ann, Pam, Shearl and Donna Rae.
A visitation for Jerry will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412.
A Funeral Service will start at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Coble Chapel with Pastor Billy Batten officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412.
Pallbearers will be Steven Bell, Alex Pare, Tony Lisk, Brian Brooks and David Fulk.
