Jessie Rich

Jessie Lee Rich of Wilmington, NC passed away on January 12th at the age of 96.  She was born on March 17, 1928 in Supply, NC to the late Jesse and Katie Robinson.  She was predeceased by her husband Paul E. Rich Sr, and her son Paul E Rich Jr, both of Wilmington, NC and her six siblings

She is survived by her daughter Gloria Edrington (David); her grandchildren Kristin Whittaker (Brandon), Morgan Maddrey (William) of Raleigh, NC and Sean Edrington (Sara) of Fairfax, CA; and her great-grandchildren Lewis Whittaker, Foster Maddrey, and Ryder and Kariana Edrington.

Jessie worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Poole before retiring.  After retirement she enjoyed working in her yard which was a source of pride.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was part of the group YAH’s (Young at Heart) outreach choral ensemble.  She and her husband were members of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, making friends with other Carolinians over their mutual love of antique cars.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation for the skilled and compassionate care she received at The Davis Community of Porters Neck, NC over the past 7 years.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market Street, Wilmington, NC on January 17, 2025 at 11:30 AM.  Visitation at 10:30 AM will immediately precede the service with a private burial to follow.
