Jimmie Powell Spivey

Jimmie Powell Spivey of Wilmington died Friday October 22, 2010. He was born in December 4, 1929 in Wilmington, N.C. son of the late James Charles Spivey and Irene Powell Spivey. Mr. Spivey's career in the dairy business spanned forty years starting with White Ice Cream and Milk Co. and finishing with Pine State Creamery. He was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church and the YAH'S. Jimmie was a loving husband and father. He was always a real southern gentleman to all that he met and treated everyone with kindness. Surviving is his wife Lorraine Spivey, children; Jimmie Spivey Jr. and wife Deborah, Julie Barefoot and husband George all of Wilmington, grandchildren; Carrie Beth, Trey, Cameron, Rhett and Anna, great grandchildren Handley and Harper. A graveside service will be held 2pm Monday October 25, 2010 at Oleander Memorial Gardens by Dr. Donnie Lovette. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:30pm Monday October 25, 2010 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
