Jimmy Ray Long
February 3, 1943 – February 15, 2011
Jimmy Ray Long, 68, of Wilmington, suddenly passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at home. Jimmy was born February 3, 1943, in Wilmington, NC, to the late Clifton Leo Long and Marjorie Ray Long.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Teague Long; two daughters, Jodi Long Register and her husband Eddie Register, and Jennifer Lea Long and one grandson, Grayson Register; two brothers, Clifton Leo Long, from Wilmington, and Michael L. Long of Tarboro, NC, 4 nephews, and 3 nieces.
Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Wilmington and a 1962 graduate of New Hanover High School. He retired from CSX Railroad after 35 years of service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, Oleander Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.coblewardsmithwilmington.com.
