

John Gerald Kelley, 87, of Hampstead, NC, died Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was born July 16, 1925, in Frankstown, PA, to the late John G. Kelley, Sr. and Anna MacNeill Kelley. John proudly served on the submarine tender USS Pelias, in the Pacific, during WWII. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and a third degree Knight of Columbus. John was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed playing pinochle. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and wit. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Greifzu and brother, Louis M. Kelley. Survivors include his sister, Mary Anna Kelley; brother, Leo G. Kelley and wife Virginia; three nephews; six nieces; seven great-nephews; ten great-nieces and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 7-9pm, Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11am, Thursday, November 8, 2012, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
