

Johnny Allen Ivey, 63 of Wilmington, NC passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Johnny was born on August 30, 1952 in Lumberton, NC. He was the son of the late William Boyd Ivey of Clinton, NC and Ruby Leggett Ivey presently of Wilmington, NC. He is survived by his wife Dee Canady Ivey and her daughter Kaylee Marie Sellars; His former wife Alison Danette Rowan and their children Joel Allen Ivey (Christina) and Ashlyn Rowan Ivey of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by two cherished granddaughters. Other family survivors include his brothers Donald Lynn Ivey (Tempe) of Raleigh, NC and Richard Troy Ivey (Jan) of Lynchburg, VA. He was predeceased by his sister Polly Ivey Allen (Andy) of Wendell, NC. Johnny graduated from Lumberton High School and was a graduate of Southeastern Community College. He was owner of Ivey Painting, Inc. Johnny was a member of Wrightsville United Methodist Church of Wrightsville Beach, NC. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and in previous years found joy in riding his motorcycle to Daytona Beach, or flying his Diamond airplane. Johnny will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his kindness, his sense of humor and always throwing great cookouts, for he was known as "the grill master." Johnny was always seen in a pair of flip flops, khaki shorts and an Ivey Painting tee shirt- Casual attire is welcome. There will be a Celebration of Life service for Johnny at Wrightsville United Methodist Church, 4 Live Oak Drive, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480 on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to The Plant Place 6114 Market Street.
