

Jonathan was a proud and devoted father to his three children, Lily, Luke and Locklyn. He loved being a hands-on dad. He took great pride in every activity in which his children participated.
Jonathan enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, cooking and reading. He was inquisitive with a quick mind and a friend to many. He enjoyed maintaining connections with friends he had made throughout his life.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bruce Skipper, and stepmother, Betty Kathleen Skipper of Conyers, Ga. He is survived by his son Luke Grainger and daughters Lily Alexandra and Locklyn Littlepage, his mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Jim Brumit of Wilmington. His brother and sister-in-law, Richard H. and Suza Skipper, and nephews, R. Hardin II and Joseph McLeod Skipper of Marietta, GA. Also surviving are his cousin Edward H. Moseley III, son. William, and Aunt Catherine Hall; his stepbrother J. Mark Brumit, wife Paige and their daughter Reeve, stepsister Elizabeth Durgee and son C.J. Santiago.
Jonathan was reared in Wilmington and graduated from New Hanover High School. Class of 1991, where he proudly played varsity football. He attended UNCW and Appalachian State University and obtained an Associate in Applied Sciences: Nuclear Maintenance Technology degree from Cape Fear Community College.
Jonathan worked with Granite Services and Sonic Systems, subsidiaries of General Electric for over 15 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at Saint Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1416 Market Street, Wilmington.
The family extends their deepest gratitude for the prayers, support, and love shown to them through their loss.
Donations in Jonathan’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The service will be streamed on www.sacpc.org and YouTube.
A reception will be held following the service at the church.
