Joseph Donald Henson

Joseph Donald Henson Sr. went to his heavenly home March 14, 2015 with his loving family by his side at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Son of John and Maude Henson of Ashville, NC he was born October 6, 1934 and was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Fairfax Henson. Don served his country in the US ARMY and National Guard for 4 years, earning the rank of E4. Don retired as manager of A & P, Carolina Beach. He is survived by his brother John L Henson and three sons and daughter in laws, Charles Wayne and Gloria Merritt, Johnny Ray and Carolyn Henson and Joseph Donald Jr. and Deeanne Henson and their six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A special thanks to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice for all of their help and support through this time. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 19th from 12:00-2:00pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Dr. Wilmington. Funeral will follow at 2:00pm in the Coble Ward-Smith Chapel with interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider donating to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
