In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters: Gloria Clark, Elsie Gore and Allie Mae Parker and brother Harvey Stillman.
Aunt Josie loved her church family at Sunset Park Baptist Church where she had attended since 1965. She worked at France Neckwear for 40 years. Aunt Josie enjoyed going to family activities, reading and Carolina Tarheel basketball. Aunt Josie was always there for her family. Prior to her getting her angel wings on Friday some of her nieces and nephews got to spend a few precious hours reminiscing with her. That was a special gift from Aunt Josie that we will always cherish. One story she told us was about her as a young girl walking to school singing her favorite children's hymn “Heavenly Sunshine.” Josie was born and lived in Wilmington, NC all her life and saw many changes to the city she loved. Aunt Josie, if tears could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
She is survived by her nieces; Josephine Devone (Leon), Linda Watkins, Phyllis Stillman, Debbie Stillman, nephews; Dennis Parker (Wanda), Jimmy Parker (Patsy), Ray Pacer, Joey Gore, Pete Clark (Barbara) and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel with Pastor Hugh Folds officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral in Greenlawn Burial Park.
In her memory please consider making a donation to Sunset Park Baptist Church or Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
