Joyce Kimberly Lewis

Joyce Kimberly Lewis of Wilmington, NC went to be with Jesus on Monday, February 15,2021. She was born May 27, 1959 in Uniontown, PA, and was the beloved daughter of Phyllis Cooley Lewis and father, the late James Andrew Lewis. In addition to her devoted, loving mother Phyllis of Wilmington, Joyce is survived by to two sisters' Janet Henry (Greg) of Wilmington and Shelly Russell (Bret) of Boulder Creek, CA. Also, a special uncle, Roger Cooley of VA and aunt, Charlotte Downey of SC, in addition to her many cousins.

Joyce was a special angel sent to us from heaven to love and watch over during her time on this earth. She loved her family and the Lord. With her gentle and fun-loving personality, Joyce will be missed by all who knew her. She previously attended a day program at the HELP Center in Wilmington and was a participant in the Special Olympics. Later in her life, Joyce lived for 11 enjoyable years in a group home, Country Living in Washington, NC where she met many wonderful and caring people who still remember her sweetness, even today. A special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Azalea Health in Wilmington for taking good care of her during her short residency there and to all her Doctors and their staff who attended to her many physical and emotional needs during her lifetime.

Private funeral services will be held in Wilmington at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. The internment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
