Joyce Marshall Willoughby

She graduated Campbell University in 1966 and became an elementary school teacher, teaching in both Florida and then later in NC where she settled with her husband, Larry Michael Willoughby, whom she married in 1967. The two ran successful motel businesses in both Kure and Carolina Beach over their working careers. She was a loving mother to her three children, a faithful wife, and was a doting grandmother to her beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eulus Marshall and Hilda Marshall, three siblings, Shirley Marshall, Mary Alice Marshall, and Bobby Marshall. She is survived by her husband, Larry Willoughby (Kure Beach), her three children, Amy (Willoughby) Burle (R.J.) of Candler, Joseph Willoughby (Kristie) of Wilmington, and Joy (Willoughby) Gibson (Randall) of Wilmington, and her seven grandchildren, Miranda Burle, Delia Burle, Aiden Willoughby, Noah Willoughby, Waylon Gibson, Joseph Burle, and Patrick Burle. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Marshall as well as a niece, Angela, and five nephews, Kent, Todd, Anthony, Mike, and Bob.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 6, at Andrews Mortuary, 4108 S. College Rd, Wilmington, 28412.    Visitation will begin at 10 AM, followed by a service in the chapel at 11AM.  Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, 28412.
