Julia Hayes Croft

   Julia Hayes Croft of Leland went to celebrate her 90th birthday with her heavenly family on November 1, 2016. Mrs. Croft was born on November 1, 1926 in Leland, NC, daughter of the late Earnest Hunter and Ethel Murrell Hayes. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Croft, 5 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are her brothers, Willie Hayes, Royal Hayes (Doris) and her special sister, Ruby Parker and husband Bill. Julia was very thankful for all the help they provided the past 16 years. Also surviving is a special niece Darlene Parker and many other nieces and nephews.

   She retired from the Daily Press in Newport News, VA after 23 years of service and relocated back to Leland to be close to her family.

   Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday November 4, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. A gathering of friends and family will be from 1:30 to 2:30 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.

   The Parker family wishes to express their special thanks and appreciation to Julia’s caregivers Sandy Wilson and Taylor Perry for the excellent kindness, care, concern and love shared with Julia this past year.
