He was born in Franklinton, NC, November 15, 1937 to the late James A. Preddy and Clarice Roberts Preddy.
He retired from Corning after 34 years of service and served inthe North Carolina National Guard for 37 years. He was a member of Wilmington Masonic Lodge #319, the Elks Lodge, and the Sons of the Confederacy.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wall Preddy; four children,Frankie Preddy and wife Deborah, Sherry Ashley and husband Robert, Jeffrey Preddy and wife Cathy, and Jennifer Eason and husband Rick; grandchildren, Laura Ashley Preddy, Heather Gammon and husband Drew, Katelynn Ashley, Avery Ashley, Dawn Moran and Kimberly Norville; great grandchildren,Elijah, Madelyn, Jace, Layne, Chase and Cole; a sister Cynthia O’Daniel and twin brother Mack Preddy, and his faithful canine companion “Gabrielle”.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 2 until 3 PM followed by a memorial service at 3 PM at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
