June Marie Doherty

June Marie Doherty, 66, of North Topsail Beach, NC, passed away on February 22, 2010 at her residence. June was born in Jersey City, NJ on June 30, 1943 to the late Carmine and Filomena Francisco. She was a lower school teacher for many years in New Jersey, Indiana, Connecticut and Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC for 18 years, where she taught pre-school and first grade. June is survived by her husband Ed Doherty; son, Lt. Col. David Doherty and wife Erin of Honolulu, HI; daughters, Kelly Elliot and husband Todd of Playa Vista, CA and Sharon Long and husband Ben of Wolfeboro, NH; grandchildren, Jaime Elliot, Ryan Long, Hannah Long; brothers, Nick Francisco of Matawan, NJ and Sandy Francisco of Clearwater, FL; brothers-in-law, Jack Doherty of Springfield, VA and Tom Doherty of Meridian, MS and thirteen nieces and nephews and their children. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel, Hampstead, NC. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 26, 2010, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Hampstead, NC.
