June Williams Edwards

June was born July 12, 1935, in Washington, NC. She was the daughter of the late Edward Dalton Williams, Alice Robertson Williams Chauncey and William J. Chauncey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lester Robinson Edwards Sr., brother, Ronald Williams, and sister, Shirley Lipscomb. She is survived by her three children; daughters Faye Hodges and husband Richard, Jane Coleman and husband Joe, son Lester Edwards and wife Suzanne. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Anna Joyner (David), Will Hodges (Liz), Maggi West (Tim), David Coleman, Scott Coleman (Jordan), Blake Mueses (Juan), Lawson Edwards (Cameron) and Elle West (Ben). In addition, June is survived by 10 great-grandchildren who were precious to her and gave her such joy. She is survived by many close family members that were very dear to her heart.

June was passionate about teaching Sunday school, cooking, cross-stitching, and reading. She dedicated her life to her family and was a devoted member of the First Christian Church. Her warm hospitality is a cherished legacy that continues to live on through her loved ones and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers with Elder Care, Jennifer Hardy and Ms. Linda Graham. 

A visitation will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 am at First Christian Church with Revs. Brad McDowell, Courtney Hickman, and Kathy Reinger officiating. Interment to follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
