Karen Hendrix Johnson

She was born in Cocoa, FL on January 20, 1961, the daughter of Gerald Hendrix, Sr. of Wilmington, NC and the late Erna Nelson Hendrix, who preceded her in death in 2020.

Surviving in addition to her father are two sons, Brandon Farrow and Taylor Batten, both of Wilmington; a brother, Jerry Hendrix, Jr. of Wagram, NC; a sister, Lisa Brimhall of Memphis, TN; one grandson, Arthur Racine of Wilmington; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Karen was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors, enjoying sunny days at the beach, long walks, fishing and bike riding. Of all her jobs, Karen especially loved working with children and at one time she had an in-home Daycare. She was loved by all who met and knew her.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel with Rev. Rob Strickland officiating and Rev. Kenny Chinn. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive in Wilmington.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm prior to the service at Andrews Market Chapel.
