

Karen Papa, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024, at the age of 68, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 29, 1955, in Roxborough, PA; Karen brought warmth, kindness, and unwavering love into the lives of all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her children, Alan Papa(Jennifer Papa) and Alicia Rheel(Michael Rheel), and her stepson, Louis Papa(Melanie Papa). She was a cherished sister to Lorraine Rowe(Ed Rowe). Karen was preceded in death by her parents Aloysius and Mary Campion. Her love and bright spirit lives on through her grandchildren: Christian Papa, Allie Papa, Dean Papa, Andrew Rheel, Ryan Rheel, Norah Cain and Brynleigh Wampler. She was adored by all extended family. Her presence in their lives brought immeasurable joy and love.
Throughout her life, Karen exemplified kindness and compassion, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered. Despite facing the challenges of ovarian cancer for six years, Karen approached each day with a smile and unwavering determination. Her resilience and strength inspired all who knew her.
Karen found solace and happiness in simple pleasures, particularly by the ocean, where she felt at peace. She had a passion for reading and cherished moments spent with her grandchildren, cheering them on in their endeavors, especially in sports, even if it meant watching from a distance. Karen was a passionate Phillies and Eagles fan. She loved traveling, especially with her sister and friends.
A celebration of Karen's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 24th at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service,1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC.

Karen's memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends. Her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide those whose lives she touched. Karen will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her spirit living on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
