She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Hillary Black. She is also survived by her children James Hillary Black II and his wife Elizabeth Paxton Black of Wilson, Hillary Black Horne and husband Charles Cale Horne of Topsail Beach, Kathryn Black Watson and husband William Allen Watson of Jackson, Mississippi and Benjamin Stephens Black of Surf City.
Her grandchildren are Emma Elizabeth Black, Caroline Sullivan Watson, William Lang Hornthal, John Bratton Parker, Jr, Alexander Stephens Hornthal, Elizabeth James Watson, Jospehine Paxton Parker, Robert Allen Watson and James Hillary Black III.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
