Larry Michael Ritter

Larry Michael Ritter, 62, of Hampstead, passed away April 6, 2010. Larry was born December 6, 1947 in Greensboro, NC, the son of the late Roy Ritter and Myrtle Morrison Ritter. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael Ritter and Eddie Rose; a sister, Jan Tidwell and great granddaughter. Larry was a Captain with the Surf City Police Dept and then was a Detective with the Pender County Sheriff's Dept.. He had been a US Marine and had served in Vietnam. He was also an avid metal detector and fisherman. Larry is survived by his wife, Doris Ritter, of the home; four children, Michael Rose and his wife Lisa of VA, Daniel Rose of VA, Betty Curlee and her husband Michael of Hampstead, NC, and Billy Ritter of FL; eight grandchildren, Jason, Joshua and Jessie Rose, Davy Eldert, Danielle and Deanna Rose, Michael Curlee and Crystal Treadway; seven great grandchildren and two brothers, Barry and Buddy Ritter. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Surf City Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park. Members of the Pender County Sheriff's Dept. will act as bearers.
