Laura Williams Barham

Laura Williams Barham, age 92, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Davis Community. She was born on September 17, 1930 in Columbus County to the late Doras and Clara Mercer Leonard. Laura was the widow of Lloyd Fentrice Williams and later the widow of Preston Barham.

She is survived by her son Danny Williams and wife Margaret of Surf City, a daughter Tannis Barnes and husband Jerry of Wilmington, NC, a son Mark Williams and wife Jackie of Whiteville, NC; grandchildren; (Rodney, Laura and husband Darren Rivenbark, Daniel Williams) (Amber, Jeremy Barnes), (Zachary, Colton Williams and wife Krista), great grandchildren Holden & Summer Rivenbark, sisters Lois Lemmond of Wilmington, NC, Lena Small and husband Arlon of Green Sea, SC and brother Jerome Leonard of Wilmington, NC.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thurston Leonard of Salisbury, NC and a sister Elaine Leonard of Conway, SC.

Laura was a longtime member of Ogden Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a seamstress who worked on military uniforms in 1950’s and 60’s. Her favorite hobbies were walking with her friend Elizabeth, working in her yard growing beautiful flowers and growing a garden with her brother Jerome and enjoyed trips with her sisters Lois and Lena. What she loved most was family, cooking delicious meals for them and spoiling her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 31, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel immediately followed by a graveside service beginning at 3:00 pm at Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville, NC.
