Laura “Laurie” Alleine Hamill, 68, passed away on July 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family and the comforting presence of her sisters, her great-nephew, and a devoted friend and neighbor.
Born on December 27, 1957 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania to Charles Paul Hamill and Jo Alleine Pechart Hamill. Laurie grew up in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. She had a passion for adventure, travel and spending time with her family and friends. Laurie had a true green thumb, effortlessly bringing life and color to both her indoor and outdoor plants. She was also the ultimate “Miss Fix-it” never shying away from a project and always having just the right tool for the job. Above all, Laurie adored her beloved dog, Jackson, whose faithful companionship brought her comfort and happiness.
After retiring in 2013, Laurie and her sister Kathy bought a home together in Wilmington, North Carolina, where they enjoyed the year-round sunshine and beautiful beaches. It was a place where family and friends were always welcome.
Although Laurie is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
