Leila was born in Loris, South Carolina on January 28, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Nathan C. Prince and Edna Goff Prince. She was a longtime, devoted member of Long Leaf Baptist Church, where she served the Lord and others faithfully and loved her Sunday School Class. Leila was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, friend, and neighbor. Everyone knew her for her servant’s heart and her absolutely delicious pound cakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur W. Todd and son, Wilbur “Gene” Todd. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Todd Joyner and her husband, Alfred Joyner, whom she lovingly called her other son; one sister, Erline Barnhill(Bud), two brothers, J.L. Prince and Lenoy Prince(Ellen); grandchildren, Gena McKenzie(Jamie), and Shane Todd, Traci Watkins(Chris), Travis Joyner(Jessicah), Trisha Smith(Chris); great grandchildren, Brittany Stallings(Josh), Brendan Todd, Cameron Watkins, Blair McKenzie, Sarah McKenzie, Bailey Todd, Tanner Smith, and Canon Joyner; great-great grandson, Jaiden Stallings and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, with Dr. Johnny M. Hunt and Rev. Eugene Ridley officiating. Visitation will be immediately following the service from 6 – 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Carter Cemetery in Loris, SC.
Pallbearers will be Travis Joyner, Chris Watkins, Chris Smith, Brendan Todd, Cameron Watkins, and Josh Stallings.
