Lewis B. Morgan Sr.

Lewis Brantley Morgan, Sr., age 69 of Burgaw, NC passed away Thursday May 5, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Morgan was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was known throughout his career as a brick mason. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis James Morgan and Thelma Stokely Morgan;

2 brothers, Harold and Lewis Morgan, 2 sisters Catherine Benton and Alma Oliver.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Linda Morgan of the home: one daughter Faye Carper and husband Robert of Oakboro, NC; two sons Lewis B. Morgan, Jr. and wife Carol of Burgaw, NC and Jimmy Morgan of Burgaw, NC; Seven grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren; One sister Pat Brown and three brothers Bobby Morgan, Franky Morgan and Billy Morgan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Morgan will be conducted at 11 am Monday May 9, 2011 at the Rocky Point Presbyterian Church in Rocky Point, NC with Reverends JC Young and Darrell Hester officiating. Graveside services will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday May 7, 2011 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Services on Oleander Dr. Wilmington, NC.

Pallbearers will be Adam Bearden, Sidney Bearden, Avery Rackley, Sean Royal, Drew Karnes, Robert Carper and Richard Hemi.

At other times friends may visit at the residence, 661 Farside Dr. Burgaw, NC 28425.
