Lillian was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was a great cook and loved to help others. She also had a very deep love for animals. Anyone who came to know her, came to love her.
Lillian was an avid supporter of Women’s Rights, the LGBTQ community, Racial Equality, and rite of passage for safety and refuge for legal immigration. Her passion though was helping to support assistance and research for various genetic conditions and developmental disabilities – especially ongoing research for Tuberous Sclerosis, (which her eldest daughter had). She contributed financially to the Tuberous Sclerosis Society, and also worked closely for years with The ARC of NC and First in Families to support families with children and adult children with special needs.
She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Lucette Delgado. She is survived by her sister Lily Baker, her two daughters Yvette Masullo and Margarette Maldonado, as well as 7 grandchildren (Monique Marshall, Michael Maldonado, Jose Maldonado Jr, Michelle Maldonado, Stephanie Masullo, Michael Masullo and Jason Masullo), as well as 6 great grandchildren (Jazmyne Marshall, Christian Marshall, Mateo Maldonado, Winter Lily Maldonado, Tiana Scott, and Khari Tyson).
In her 83 ½ years of life on this earth, Lillian touched the lives of so many people. She did not even begin to realize the impact that just knowing and being loved by her had on those around her. She will be missed dearly by many.
Lillian’s wishes were to be cremated and for her ashes to be dispersed with those of her mother and daughter out in the ocean. A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends on July1, 2022. Flowers, cards and donations can be sent to the family at 1546 Honeybee ln Wilmington, NC 28412.
