Lloyd E. Roberts, MD

Lloyd E. Roberts, MD, 72, of Wilmington, NC, died Monday, August 24, 2015 at Duke Medical Center. He was born on June 24, 1943 in Sterling, CO, the son of the late James Myrl Roberts and Ruby Vay Haynes Roberts. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Roberts. Dr. Roberts was a beloved doctor, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He practiced obstetrics and gynecology for twenty-eight years before retiring. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church for almost 40 years. He is survived by his son, Benjamin A. Roberts of Raleigh, NC; daughter, The Reverend Elizabeth A. Roberts and her husband Aaron Muscle of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Libby Muscle and Wesley Muscle; five nieces; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church. A private burial will be held in Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Grace United Methodist Church or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
