

Louise was born on April 3, 1919 in Buies Creek, NC, daughter of the late William Harvey Hatcher and Effie Burgoon Hatcher.
Louise was a member of the Riegelwood Baptist Church and a past member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was employed as a secretary for the New Hanover County Board of Education until her retirement.
Louise was a lifelong Christian and gave her all to help spread his word. She enjoyed working outdoors and playing all kinds of games but her true love was her family and friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth F. Cumber; brothers, Durward Hatcher, Norman Hatcher and Russell Hatcher; sisters, Edna Conner and Ruth Hewett.
Louise is survived by her sons, Phillip E. Cumber of Wilmington and Christopher A. Cumber and his wife Ginger of Riegelwood; grandsons, Chad Cumber and his wife Samantha, Jason Cumber and his wife Pamela and Brett Cumber; sister, Ruby Williams and many family and friends, who she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 10:00am on Friday July 27, 2012 at the Coble Ward- Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive Wilmington, NC 28403.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday July 27, 2012 at the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Hester and Pastor John Porter officiating followed by a Graveside Service at the VA National Cemetery in Wilmington.
