Lowell Clark, 89, of Wilmington passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. He was born on October 1, 1925 in Albemarle, NC to the late Barney and Verona Clark. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Lula Hayes Clark as well as 7 siblings. Lowell is survived by his wife Mildred; 3 children, Bobby (Queen), Richard and Sherrie; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister Peggy Connell as well as many nieces and nephews. Lowell served honorably in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Tripoli during WWII. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 30 years of service. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He was a member of American Legion Post 10. Lowell was a member of Kure Beach First Baptist Church. A visitation will be held 1-2pm Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel where funeral services will start at 2pm. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park where full military honors will be accorded. The family would like to thank Cape Fear Hospice and especially Kathy, Rene, Cindy and Nancy along with the Federal Point Fire Department.
