

She was born in Portsmouth VA on August 16, 1933, to Carroll E. Garrenton and Grace Evelyn Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carolyn Edens, and granddaughter, Grace Evelyn Brinson.
Lucille graduated from Churchland High School in Portsmouth, VA. She was a faithful servant of God and fiercely patriotic for her beloved USA. She was the heart of our home and a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She truly earned the titles “Mom “and Grandmama”. In addition to being an awesome homemaker, she excelled in baking, cooking, gardening, crafts, and sewing. She had a great love for animals, especially dogs, including her current Malinois/Shepard mix, Lucy. Lucille also enjoyed many sports and was an avid fan of baseball (Yankees/Braves) and Duke Basketball.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Albert W. Brinson Jr. And children, A.W. Brinson III, Matt Brinson (Amanda), Christopher Brinson, and Kimberlea Burke (Dave); siblings, Alan Garrenton (Nancy) and Valerie Langley (Dave); grandchildren, Jack Brinson, Zoe Brinson, and Grant Brinson.
A graveside service for the family will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday July 7,2026 at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Pastor Pete Mata officiating.
