
Lucille “Luci” Flowers Jordan went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2010 at the age of 91. She was born in New Hanover County on September 27, 1919. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Alexander Jordan, her parents Charlie Thomas and Katie Skipper Flowers, and her only sibling, Josephine (Jody) Padrick and husband Julius.
She is survived by her son, Thomas M. Moore and wife Lia of Greenville, NC and her daughters Carole, M. Malpass and husband Dudley of Hampstead, NC, and Janet M. Logan and husband Tommy of Wilmington, NC and stepson Henry (Chip) A. Jordan and wife Linda of Burgaw, NC. Also surviving are five granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
Mom wishes to remember two special nephews Joel “Pal” Padrick and wife Janet of Wilmington, NC and C. Eugene (Gene) Padrick and wife Loyce of Jacksonville, Fla.
Also remembered are her special lifelong friends Eva Rackley, Marjorie Blanton, and Lela Butler.
Mother loved her Lord, her family, and her many friends. In earlier years, mom was active in Grays Creek Women’s Club in Fayetteville , NC . She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, camping, fishing, and crabbing when she was physically able. Mom had a beautiful alto voice and sang in the church choir. As teenager’s mom and her friend, Margie, played their guitars on the radio.
The family would like to thank Champions Assisted Living, Davis Healthcare Center , and Lower Cape Fear Hospice at DHC, Dr. Marsha Fretwell and staff and Mrs. Hazel Batts for their tender care of our mother.
The Viewing and Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by the Service at 2:00 pm at Topsail Baptist Church , Highway 17 North, Hampstead , NC on Saturday, August 14, 2010. The pall bearers will be Durwood Bradshaw, Scott Bradshaw, Bill Costin, Jodie Costin, Pete Garvey, Lawrence Matthews, Joel Padrick, Eugene Padrick, and Wilbur Willett.
