Lucille M. Westbrook

Lucille Mooring Westbrook, 91, of Wilmington, NC, entered into rest on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Brunswick Cove Nursing Center surrounded by her family. Lucille went back to school at age 50 to become a Nurse, where she enjoyed serving others at New Hanover Medical Center for almost 20 years. She was a good neighbor, and a devout Christian. She was a member of Sunset Park Baptist Church, where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunbeam through the years. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Shepard Alexander Westbrook and her daughter, Betty Margaret Westbrook Aldridge.

She is survived by her son, John Robert Clint Lanier, Jr. and his wife, Phyllis Wyldes Lanier of Duncansville, PA; daughters, Gloria Jean Westbrook Rodriguez and her husband, Oscar Lopez Rodriguez of Leland, NC, Marcia Ruth Westbrook of Wilmington, NC; a nephew, James Donald Westbrook of LaGrange, NC; nieces, Janet Westbrook Frantz of LaGrange, NC, Linda Oliver and her husband, Greg of Birmingham, AL; 9 Grandchildren, and numerous Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Wilmington Chapel with Rev. Chris Wroten officiating. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 1, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
