Lucy Marie Nelson

Lucy Marie Nelson, 83, of Hampstead, NC, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Davis Health Care Center. She was born on April 1, 1930 in Jones County, NC, the daughter of the late Lennie Edward Freeman and Lucy Virginia Mills Freeman. Mrs. Nelson was a long time member of Hampstead United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Nelson, Jr. and a daughter, Judy Nelson Pierce. Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Nelson Biermann and husband Fred of Hampstead, NC; two grandchildren, Catherine Pierce Towle and husband Doug, and Thomas Frederick Biermann, II "Bo" and wife Amanda; and two great-granddaughters, Sidney and Caroline Towle. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel with Rev. Buddy Dowd and Rev. David Adams. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
