Lucy P. Targia

Born on August 11, 1934, Lucy lived a life defined by faith, love, and selfless devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santo J. Targia, who passed away on October 22, 2016.

Lucy spent most of her life caring for others. She was the steady, calming presence in her family, always placing the needs of those she loved before her own. Her life was a remarkable example of quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication.

After the passing of her father, Lucy welcomed her mother into her home and cared for her for the next 18 years. She later cared for her sister through the remainder of her life and cared for her husband, Santo, until his passing in 2016. Caring for those she loved wasn’t simply something she did—it was who she was.

Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. As a devoted member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Lucy lived her faith through kindness, compassion, generosity, and service to others. Her unwavering trust in God gave her strength throughout her life and inspired all who knew her.

Lucy found great joy in gardening. Her beautiful garden, which she maintained in the backyard of her home, reflected the same care and patience she showed throughout her life. It was one of her favorite places, and its beauty will always be remembered by her family and friends.

Lucy is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Kathleen and Thomas Hamilton, Michele and James Malloy, and Michael and Tara Targia; her grandsons, Erick Targia and Christopher Targia; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Details to be provided when established.

Lucy will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered for the quiet strength, unwavering faith, and unconditional love she shared so generously throughout her life.
