Mabel Catherine Lentz Reynolds, 102, of Wilmington, NC died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at her residence. She was born on September 9, 1908 to Mary Catherine and John Lee Lentz. Mabel was the third child of 11 children all of which have preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her only daughter, Gary Nell Eberhardt. In 1930 Mabel graduated from Davis Hospital School of nursing in Statesville, NC. Mabel dedicated her life to nursing in service to her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She was supervisor of pediatrics at James Walker and New Hanover Memorial Hospitals. She married William Lloyd Reynolds in 1931 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before his death in 1983. Mabel is survived by her son-in-law Eric Eberhardt, grandson William Alan McGregor and wife Vickie, great granddaughters, Janie McAuliffe and husband Tim, Samantha McGregor, and Michelle McGregor. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 11:00 am in Oleander Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall at Winter Park Presbyterian Church on Wrightsville Avenue. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Winter Park Presbyterian Church.
