Malcolm Scott “Scottie” Nelson, Jr. died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 26, 2008. He was born in Wilmington August 21, 1981, the son of Malcolm Scott Nelson and Charlene Webb Shankle. Scottie was preceded in death by his fraternal grandfather James L. Nelson of Wilmington. In addition to his parents, Scottie is survived by his stepfather Scott Shankle and his stepmother Connie Nelson. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Emily Lea Whaley, his maternal grandfather Louis C. Webb, Kathy “K.C” Rochelle, his fraternal grandmother Lucy Hall Moore,a step brother, Kevin Riggs, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his beloved chocolate Labrador Retriever “Casie”. A visitation will be held at Andrews Hampstead Chapel from 6-8 PM , Tuesday, January, 29th. Funeral services will be held at Scotts Hill Baptist Church Wednesday, January 30th at 11 AM followed by burial at Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead, NC.
