

Manola Wagstaff High Hilbourn, 89, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 20, 2012. She was born on November 20, 1922 to the late Donnie Hector Wagstaff and Carrie Inez Pigford in Duplin County, NC.
Manola worked in the nursing department at Columbus County Regional Medical Center for 25 years. She was a long time member of Hallsboro Baptist Church. After moving to Wilmington in 2003, she changed her membership to Silver Lake Baptist Church. She was also a member of Ladies Bible Study group and WMU Members. Manola loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Julius Albert High; second husband, Gumery Hilbourn; two sons, David Kent High and Curtis D. High; and a grandson, Jay High.
She is survived by her five children, Jean High Murphy (Richard) of Leesburg, FL., Phillip R. High (Lee), J. Kelly High, Sylvia High Babson, and Don High, all of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Gary Murphy, Joseph High (Kate), Travis High, Alainna High Bailey, Wesley High, and Matt Hinson; a special great-grandchild Manola Grace High; and a special niece, Wanda Ezzell Byrd of Virginia Beach, VA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Silver Lake Baptist Church, 4715 Carolina Beach Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
