Margaret Newland Ford

She was a great and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who lived for four things; her faith, family, friends, and flowers. Mrs. Ford was very active in the church, and a charter member of the Kure Memorial Lutheran Church, she was a member of the Lutheran Women, loved gardening, and quilting for the Salvation Army and other charities.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Ford, her brother James Ferguson Newland, and her sister Dorothy Piner.

Surviving are her three sons; Bob Ford (Elizabeth) of Wake Forest, Jim Ford (Dorcas Craig) of Castle Hayne, and Tom Ford (Jackie) of Laurinburg, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Kure Memorial Lutheran Church from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Kure Memorial Lutheran Church at 11:00am with the Reverend Dan Keck officiating.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kure Memorial Lutheran Church 117 North 3rd Avenue, Kure Beach, NC 28449, or a charity of one’s choice.
