

Marguerite, or as friends and family called her “Beth” of Wilbur-by-the-Sea near Daytona Beach Shores, and formerly of Wilmington, N.C., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on June 29, 2017.
A Memorial Service will be held at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St, Wilmington, NC, Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2 pm. Burial will be held privately with her family at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Beth was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to Clearwood and Marguerite Vaughan on June 22, 1925. She graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1943. She lived overseas in France and Turkey with her husband and five children. In Ankara Turkey, she served as a volunteer for the Red Cross and as a member of the Turkish American Cultural Association. She returned to Wilmington, NC in 1965 where she went on to earn a degree in Social Work in 1976 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington while working full time and raising five children as a single mother. She worked at UNC Wilmington for over 20 years as secretary for the Physics department. Beth enjoyed nature, bird watching, concerts, eating out, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She always had a curious and adventurous spirit.
Beth is preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite Wewend, her step father William (Bill) Wewend; and her father Clearwood (C.V.) Vaughan. She is also predeceased by her first husband, William H.C. (Billy) Hall and her second husband William A. (Bill) Ainsworth.
Beth is survived by her brother, Clyde Vernelson Vaughan of Fayetteville, N.C.; daughters Susan Hall and Laura Weber; sons Wallace, Stephen and Mark Hall as well as her step-daughter Melissa Ainsworth and step-sons William (Billy) and Lyndon Ainsworth. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Beth was well loved by friends, family, co-workers and all who knew her. She was always willing to help others and was an example of unconditional love and an inspiration to her children and grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Florida Hospital Hospice for their support in her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Florida Hospital Hospice, Ormond Beach, Florida.
