Marian Paula (nee Green) Fleming

Marian Paula Fleming (nee Green), 57, of Wilmington, formerly of Wheaton, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Marian was born June 8, 1957 in Heidelberg, Germany, daughter of the late Harry and Erika Green. A brother, Robert Green, preceded her in death. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 2008 after 33 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Russell Fleming; daughter, Lauren Berning (Jonathan); two stepdaughters, Lauren and Blair Fleming; proud grandmother of Carter and Cecelia Berning, Oscar Morgan, and Cylan Stringfield; siblings, Peter Green (the late Melody Green), Susan Prince (Raymond), and Liza Green; and niece and nephews, Michael Green, Alex Martin, Jason and Jeff Prince, and Mysti Green-Jones. Marian was an animal lover and her pets, Miles and Princess, will miss her greatly. She loved being outdoors and going for walks with her husband. She also had a deep appreciation for historical artifacts. She loved life, was taken too young, and will be terribly missed by many. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Michael's Church in Wheaton, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marian's memory may be made to the Elephant Sanctuary, 27 East Main Street, PO Box 393, Hohenwald, TN 38462, or to the New Hanover County Humane Society, 2405 N. 23rd Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.
