Marie Potter Hardison

Marie Potter Hardison, 74, of Wilmington, NC, died Saturday, November 15, 2008, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Pender County, NC, November 15, 1934, daughter of the late George F. Potter and Elizabeth Hand Potter, and was preceded in death by a brother, George Potter, Jr. Mrs. Hardison had been employed with Heat Craft for twenty-two years and later with Corning for six years. She had been a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and most recently Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church. Surviving is her husband of forty-five years, Daniel R. Hardison; her son, Daniel R. Hardison, Jr. and wife, Sheila of Wilmington; and four grandchildren who she loved and adored, Ryan, Jacob, Nathan, and Tessa. The family will receive friends at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, with the Rev. June Highfill officiating. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Bishop, Charles Smith, Toby Smith, Donald Hardison, Horace Hardison, and Michael Hardison. The family wishes to extend special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Marsha Fretwell and staff and to the Elderhaus staff for all the kindness, care, and concern shared with them and Mrs. Hardison during their time of need.
