Marilyn J. Wagner (“Pat”) our adopted mom, grandmother and great grandmother, 89, of Hampstead passed from her earthly life on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Stonebridge Assisted Living, where she resided for the last seven years.
“Pat” was born on March 17, 1931 in Rochester, NY. She graduated from The Highlands School of Nursing, Rochester, NY in 1952. Pat worked in many departments at Highland Hospital although she expressed a great love for the Labor and Delivery Department. After leaving the hospital, Pat was Director of Nursing at a nursing facility in Canandaigua, NY. From there she did community nursing in the Rochester area. Pat retired in 1989 at which time, her and her husband George moved to Hampstead. In 1990, Pat came out of retirement to work as a civilian at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune. Pat enjoyed golfing, gardening and her beloved dog, Buster.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, George Fredrick Wagner and a son, John Hill Wagner. Pat is survived by a brother, George Crabbe and nephews all of S.C. Also, by her adopted families, the Caldwell’s of Hampstead and the Reddick’s of Jacksonville, NC.
Pat was a friend to all; always having a kind word, a smile and a laugh. She enjoyed the staff and residents at Stonebridge and they enjoyed her as well. “Miss Pat” will be missed by so many. Til we meet again Pat…
Miss Pat was a long time member of The Hampstead Baptist Church. A celebration of her life will be held there on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
