She was preceded in death by her parents: Liston Lanier and Minnie Vowell, her husband: Leon Scott and her brother: Carlton Lanier.
She is survived by her three children: Gary Mathis (Tina), Vernon Mathis (Carolynn Bland), and Teresa Crisp (Joey), her sisters: Linda Stroh and Margaret Laws (Ed), 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was a woman of God who gave of her time and talents at Pine Valley Church of God. She loved her family, spending time with them and cooking for them. She loved being with her church groups and fellowshipping with them.
Visitation will be held at Pine Valley Church of God, 3810 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, NC, on May 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Funeral Service will be held at Pine Valley Church of God, 3810 Shipyard Boulevard, Wilmington, NC, on May 7, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastor Larry Horrell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
