Marjorie Lee Dennis (Marji) Turner

She was the daughter of the late John Alfred Dennis, Jr. and May (Evelyn) Hoagland Dennis and beloved sister to the late John Dennis and James (Jim) Dennis.

Marji moved from California to Tupelo, Mississippi with her husband Jim in 1961. She spoke often of appreciating the closeness of her husband's large Mississippi family and she carried that focus on family throughout her life. Wilmington became her home in 1970. Throughout her life, she was a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother (GMA) and friend.

She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she cherished her friendships at the Wilmington Ward. The church fostered her passion in the field of genealogy for over two decades. She became an expert in genealogical research and found great joy in teaching others about genealogy.

She worked for many years at Lowe's Home Improvement store before it became a household name and later made a career at the Family Services of Wilmington Agency where she and her teammates helped many people in need.

Marji loved her volunteer experience with the Big Buddy program and her membership in the American Businesswomen's Association. She volunteered for several organizations and enjoyed being the newsletter editor at three of those entities.

Marji is survived by her daughter, Bridget Turner Carr, son Dennis James Turner (Mary), grandchildren Adrienne Enyart (Jon), Mitchell Gainey (Emmy), Kate Turner, great grandchildren Alana and Ashley Enyart, brother William (Bill) Dennis and many nieces and nephews.
