She was born in Robeson County on January 29, 1930, daughter of Luther & Jadie Bass; preceded in death by her parents, her husband- a retired WFD Capt. Wallace Pearson, four brothers, two sisters, her son Wayne Yopp & a special son in-law, Wayne Bordeaux. Surviving are her children Carolyn Y. Bordeaux of Delco, Allen Yopp & (wife Wanda), Jimmy Yopp & (wife Mary) of Wilmington. Ten grandchildren, Twenty great grandchildren & eight great great grandchildren, and a sister Shirley B. Stewart of Florida; many nieces and nephews, all who she loved very much. Her children, spouses and grandchildren were the great joy of her life. Ms. Pearson was a member of Lake Forest Baptist Church and attended until her health started declining gradually quite a few years ago. She was a very devoted and loving Christian mother, grandma and mother in-law. Also as her health permitted, enjoyed cooking favorite meals for her family. In her earlier years she was an avid vegetable gardener.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 14, 2017, at Coble Ward-Smith on Oleander Drive
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Lake Forest Baptist Church 1626 Lake Branch Dr. Wilmington NC. with Rev. Burt Vezina officiating. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Lake Forest Baptist Church.
The family extends there sincere appreciation to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Ctr. As well as their hospice home care nurses Erin, RN and CNA Robin and Dr. Gregory Player, and a special neighbor Earl.
