Dr. Mark Lee Glover of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away on October 12, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center with family by his side. Mark was born December 31, 1962, in Raleigh, NC, the youngest child of Joseph Clifton “Bobby” Glover and Marjorie Murray Glover.
Mark was always extraordinarily intelligent, which was reflected in his academic and professional accolades. He received a BS in Zoology/Animal Biology from North Carolina State University, a BS in Pharmacy and a PharmD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a Pediatric Pharmacology/Critical Care Medicine Fellowship with Case Western Reserve University.
Upon completion of his education and training, Mark held various positions within the medical field spanning practice, education, and research. He served as a Clinical Pharmacist at Miami Children’s Hospital; Director, Associate Professor, and Clinical Pharmacist at Nova Southeastern University; Senior Medical Writer for PPD; and in various positions within Eli Lilly and Company, including Senior Manager.
Forever a Tar Heel, Mark loved his alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was rare to see Mark without his UNC attire proudly on display. Mark also chaired the UNC-CH Palm Beach County Club, a group that would gather to cheer on the Tar Heels and participate in community service projects.
Mark was happiest outdoors. Upon completing his fellowship in Cleveland, Ohio, Mark knew he wanted to live in a warmer climate. He did just that when he moved to South Florida. He loved the warm weather and his weekly visits to the beautiful Florida beaches. He was also an avid cyclist who loved to ride his bicycle for many miles.
Mark was a voracious reader, always willing to give a recommendation or critique of the latest novel. In his spare time, Mark began to write for himself. He went on to publish three fictional novels alongside a non-fiction medical textbook on pediatric pharmacology.
Mark is survived by his sister, Carol Rhodes of Winston-Salem, NC; his sister, Elizabeth Barbour, and husband Doug of Wilmington, NC; eight nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clifton “Bobby” Glover and Marjorie Murray Glover of Garner, NC; his brother, Joe Glover of Clayton, NC; and his beloved dog, Maci.
The family will hold a private memorial and burial service at Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington, NC. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy or any charitable organization in Mark’s honor.
